Super Designer will create products using leftover fabric from three companies, including local companies. On sale at "D-LAB" on the 3rd floor Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store from October 11th (Wed) to 17th (Tue).

Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store, Isetan Shinjuku store, etc. OSAKA INSTITUTE OF FASHION is the only school in the Kansai region to participate in the upcycling project "Peace de Mirai ~Revalue Fashion Project~," in which six retail companies collaborate with domestic and international brands and creators. Original products were created using pieces of residual fabric provided by three companies: Okada Orimono Co., Ltd., Sakae Lace Co., Ltd., and Sun Corona Oda Co., Ltd. It will be sold at D-LAB on the 3rd floor Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store for 7 days from October 11th to 17th.

Students from Super Designer visited cooperating companies, researched the leftover fabrics stored in the warehouses, and expanded on their ideas to create original upcycled products.

In August, as part of Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo, a preliminary exhibition of this project was held at Shibuya Hikarie, where works were shown to buyers and media personnel. It received high praise for its high level of perfection, which is hard to believe was made from leftover paper.

When selecting products to be sold at the store, buyers from Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store visited the exhibition held on campus and examined them with a professional eye. Students also presented as designers. Opportunities like this are extremely valuable experiences in brand management.

This project is the second installment of "Denim de Mirai," which was held in March last year and in which our school also participated, and was born out of necessity as six retailers produce various fabrics from Japan's leading textile producing regions and fabric manufacturers. This is a major nationwide event that takes on the challenge of utilizing leftover wood, injecting new value into it, and bringing it back to life through the efforts of around 50 designers, creators, and other people.
